- The container tags are paired, and have a starting tag and an ending tag. The starting tag is written within angular brackets. The ending tag is identical to the starting tag except that it has a slash ( / ) before the text enclosed within angular brackets.

- For example, BODY is a container element. It has a starting tag (<BODY>) and and ending tag (</BODY>).
