Data filter or filtering is a process of viewing required (or only selected) data of a table that satisfies the specified criteria.
- Filter can be applied from within tables, form or the datasheet or a query. They can also be run from within another filter. A filter can not be based on multiple tables or be used to perform calculations. It shows only those data which meets its certain criteria.
- In Access, users can search a record by using Find command also. But Find command doesn't allow to specify the search criteria for searching more than one record at a time. Filter command and query help to find more than one record as specified in search criteria.
